Starlight Black Approximately 93 percent of Starlight Black Quartz is made of synthetic stone aggregates, and the remaining 7 percent is made of polyester resin and color pigments. Star Lite Black Quartz is commonly cut with a water jet cutter or a diamond blade in the same manner as natural stone. Natural granite and quartz share many characteristics, although quartz is usually less porous, more flexible, and available in a larger range of colors.
